Intellect: Indonesian Journal of Learning and Technological Innovation
1. Article Processing Charge (APC)
Intellect: Indonesian Journal of Learning and Technological Innovation is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Yayasan Lembaga Studi Makwa (Makwa Foundation).
To support sustainable journal operations and maintain the quality of its editorial and publication services, the journal applies a standard Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 400,000 per accepted article.
The APC is charged only after a manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review and editorial evaluation process and has been formally accepted for publication.
The journal does not charge a manuscript submission fee and does not offer a paid fast-track review service.

2. Purpose and Allocation of APC
The APC contributes to the operational sustainability of the journal and supports the editorial, technical, and publishing activities required to maintain a reliable scholarly publication process.
These activities include:
-
Editorial Management: Administrative coordination, manuscript management, editorial communication, and the handling of submissions throughout the publication process.
-
Peer-Review Support: Coordination of independent peer review and support for the professional contributions of qualified reviewers, including reviewer honoraria where applicable.
-
Editorial Services: Support for the responsibilities and professional services of editors and editorial personnel, including honoraria where applicable under the publisher's policies.
-
Journal System Maintenance: Operation, maintenance, security, and technical support of the journal's online publishing platform.
-
Publication Production: Copyediting, proofreading, article formatting, layout preparation, metadata management, and online publication.
These activities are carried out to support scholarly publishing standards, research integrity, and the long-term sustainability of the journal.
3. Editorial Independence and Peer-Review Integrity
All manuscripts submitted to Intellect undergo editorial screening and peer review in accordance with the journal's established editorial policies.
Payment of the APC does not influence editorial decisions, peer-review recommendations, or the scientific evaluation of manuscripts.
Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, and compliance with publication ethics.
The journal does not offer preferential treatment, guaranteed acceptance, accelerated peer review, or guaranteed publication in exchange for payment.
Editors and reviewers are expected to maintain professional independence and impartiality throughout the evaluation process. Any honoraria provided for editorial or reviewing services are independent of the recommendation or final decision concerning a manuscript.
4. Standard Editorial Processing
All submitted manuscripts follow the journal's standard editorial workflow.
The process generally includes initial editorial screening, independent peer review, author revision where required, editorial assessment, and a final decision.
The duration of manuscript evaluation may vary depending on manuscript quality, reviewer availability, the extent of revisions required, and editorial considerations.
The journal does not provide a fast-track service or guarantee a specific acceptance or publication date.
5. Payment Procedure
Authors are required to pay the APC only after receiving a formal notification of manuscript acceptance from the editorial office.
Following acceptance, the corresponding author will receive official payment instructions from the journal or its publisher.
Authors should make payments only through the payment channels officially designated by Yayasan Lembaga Studi Makwa (Makwa Foundation).
No payment should be made directly to individual editors or reviewers.
Completion of payment allows the accepted manuscript to proceed through the remaining production and publication stages, subject to final technical and research-integrity checks.
6. Transparency and Ethical Commitment
Intellect is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and accountability in its publication practices.
The journal's fee policy follows the principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
The APC supports publication services and does not constitute payment for manuscript acceptance, favourable peer-review recommendations, or preferential editorial treatment.
7. Contact and Payment Inquiries
For questions regarding the APC, payment procedures, or other publication-related financial matters, authors should contact the journal's editorial office through the official contact information provided on the journal website.
