Intellect: Indonesian Journal of Learning and Technological Innovation is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research at the intersection of educational technology, learning innovation, and applied digital technologies for education.
The journal aims to promote the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative technologies that support teaching, learning, assessment, and educational decision-making. It provides an academic platform for original research, technological developments, and scholarly analyses that contribute to a deeper understanding of how digital technologies can improve educational practices, learning experiences, and educational outcomes.
Intellect welcomes interdisciplinary research that brings together perspectives from education, computer science, information technology, instructional design, and related disciplines. The journal particularly encourages studies that connect technological innovation with educational needs, pedagogical principles, and evidence-based practices.
The journal covers a wide range of educational settings, including primary and secondary education, higher education, vocational education, teacher education, professional training, and lifelong learning. Studies conducted in diverse social, cultural, and institutional contexts are welcome, particularly those offering insights relevant to broader educational challenges.
The journal seeks to advance knowledge by publishing research that offers meaningful theoretical, methodological, technological, or practical contributions to the field of technology-enhanced learning.
Intellect welcomes original and rigorous scholarly contributions in the following areas:
1. Instructional Design and Technology-Enhanced Pedagogy
Research on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional approaches supported by digital technologies, including technology-integrated curriculum design, digital pedagogy, and innovative instructional models.
2. Digital Learning Environments and Educational Platforms

Intellect welcomes research employing quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, experimental, design-based, developmental, computational, and other rigorous approaches appropriate to the research questions.
The journal also considers systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, and methodological studies when they offer substantial scholarly insights or advances relevant to educational technology and learning innovation.
Research involving the development of algorithms, software, models, prototypes, or digital systems is welcome when the proposed technology addresses an identifiable educational problem and its contribution is supported by appropriate evaluation or research evidence.
Studies are not required to demonstrate improvements in learning outcomes through experimental testing in every case. However, they must clearly establish their educational relevance and provide evidence appropriate to the nature and maturity of the proposed innovation.
All submissions should demonstrate originality, methodological rigour, a clearly articulated scholarly contribution, and a meaningful connection between the research findings and the advancement of educational technology or learning innovation.
To maintain a clear scholarly identity, Intellect does not normally consider manuscripts that fall outside the field of educational technology and learning innovation.
These include:
Studies focused exclusively on general-purpose software development, information systems, computer networks, algorithms, or data processing without a clearly established educational application or contribution.
Research on commercial information systems, e-commerce, business management applications, or industrial technologies that does not directly address education, learning, or training.
Studies of teaching, curriculum, or educational psychology that do not make a substantive contribution to technology-enhanced learning or technology-supported educational innovation.
Descriptive reports on the use of existing digital applications without a clear research question, adequate evaluation, or meaningful scholarly contribution.
Purely technical performance studies that do not explain how the proposed methods, models, or systems contribute to educational technology or relevant educational practices.
Manuscripts involving interdisciplinary or emerging technologies may still be considered when their educational relevance and scholarly contribution are clearly demonstrated.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to decline manuscripts that do not sufficiently align with the journal's stated focus and scope.
Intellect serves researchers, academics, educators, instructional designers, educational technologists, software developers working on educational applications, and professionals interested in the research, development, evaluation, and responsible use of digital technologies in education.
