Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the effectiveness of the Cooperative Learning Model in enhancing students' skills in the Indonesian Language subject at MIN 2 Muna. The Indonesian Language is a crucial subject for students' communication skills, yet many students struggle with engaging in reading, writing, and speaking activities. Traditional teaching methods often do not encourage active participation, leading to lower performance and engagement. The Cooperative Learning Model, which emphasizes teamwork, collaborative problem-solving, and peer learning, was applied to address these challenges. The research was conducted over two cycles, each involving planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through classroom observations, student assessments, and interviews with both teachers and students. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Cooperative Learning Model significantly improved students' engagement, motivation, and language skills. Through group discussions and collaborative projects, students were able to actively participate in the learning process and enhance their understanding of Indonesian language concepts. Additionally, the model encouraged students to share ideas, communicate effectively, and support each other's learning, which contributed to a positive classroom atmosphere. This research concludes that the Cooperative Learning Model is an effective approach to teaching Indonesian Language, as it fosters student-centered learning, enhances social interaction, and improves both cognitive and social skills. The study offers valuable insights for educators seeking to implement more interactive, engaging, and collaborative teaching methods in language education.
